In partnership with the Fleming Collection, this exhibition at Dovecot Studios showcases the Scottish Colourists in the context of their European contemporaries. The exhibition highlights the influence of French colour and Scottish light on this distinct group in the 1920s and 30s.

The works of SJ People, JD Fergusson, GL Hunter and FCB Cadell, widely recognised as pioneers of early 20th Century Scottish art, will be shown alongside that of Matisse and Derain, the welsh artists John Dickson Innes and Augustus John, and Ireland’s Roderick O’Conner.
