What’s on in Edinburgh this December? Well it’s certainly not going to fit into this blog! December and Edinburgh is buzzing with Christmas Markets, Light Shows, Food Festivals, Santa’s Grotto’s, Exhibitions and the general build up to Hogmanay. So, a few of this month’s highlights.

East Princes Street Gardens is the host to the biggest and most obvious events.  The Christmas Market, Rekorderlig Bar, Johnnie Walker Bothy Bar, The Forth 1 Big Wheel, Silent Adventures (a Yuletide Silent Disco), Star Flyer (not for the faint hearted) and Santa Land. Rosslyn Chapel

Rosslyn Chapel is a bit of a favourite – not because of Dan Brown’s book The Da Vinci Code, although the subsequent visitors has certainly ensured the future conservation of the building – but because we were married there. It is the most wonderous unique medieval chapel, still a regular working church with Sunday morning services, and full of beautiful carvings including the Apprentice Pillar. Thursday 19th December is the Chapel by Candlelight,  7 – 9pm, www.rosslynchapel.com.
