Porty Festival – 10th – 11th May 2025
Taking over Portobello at a variety of indoor and out door locations, the festival is a celebration of food, art, music and culture. The beach is a venue for Wild Swimming workshops, Judo, a mobile sauna and dog show.
Pint of Science Festival – 19th – 21st May
A non -profit organisation that provides a space for researchers and members of the public to come together, be curious and chat about research in a relaxed environment. Now in its 12th year, the festivals have been held in nearly 500 cities around the world. Topics include Beautiful Mine, Atoms to Galaxies, Our Body, Planet Earth, Tech Me Out, Our Society and Creative Reactions.
Edinburgh’s Romance Fiction festival – 17th – 31st May. Lighthouse Bookshop have teamed up with Book Lovers Bookshop for the third instalment of their First Date romance festival. This two week event features writing workshops, panel discussions, late night shopping and more, highlighting the important conversations on consent and diversity of stories still missing from mainstream fiction. Events will take place at Lighthouse Bookshop, Book Lovers Bookshop, Lady and the Bear cafe and other venues.
